The Nevada Watercolor Society was founded to encourage, promote and advance watercolor painting through the education of the artist and general public.
Since its inception in 1969, The Nevada Watercolor Society has encouraged and promoted the advancement of water media in Southern Nevada.
Ever growing membership is testimony to the fact that we are continually striving to supply valuable resources to our members. Resources include The Nevada Watercolor Society Permanent Collection housed at the University of Nevada Las Vegas Lied Library and a well stocked video library featuring instruction on many water media techniques. Videos are available for rental at the monthly meetings.
Several painting workshops are organized through out the year. Beginners and advanced students benefit from the experience of nationally known artists.
The Society presents two juried exhibits each year. These shows are displayed in prestigious locations such as the Marjorie Barrick Museum at UNLV and the Las Vegas Art Museum. Cash and merchandise awards are distributed to winning entries.
