History:

The Lakewood Fine Arts Association was formed in 1957 by Theodore N. Ediss for the futherance of culture in our community.
In 1966, the Lakewood Fine Arts Association became known as the Lakewood Artist Guild. We have a large and active membership representing all phases of fine art; oil, watercolor, acrylic, sculpture, 3-dimensional, photography and handcrafts.
The Guild beleives its members are Very Important People. Therefore, we exhibit our members' artworks for public viewing in our Revolving Galleries at many financial and business institutions throughout Lakewood and the surrounding area. Of these, many are "one man" shows, and are changed monthly.
Our meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesdfay of each month at the Burns Center located at 5510 Clark Avenue in the City of Lakewood, and feature guest Speaker-demonstrators wo are well known in their specific fields of art. These meetings are open and free to the public. The Guild does not hold meetings during the months of July, August and December.
