San Diego is one of the United States' most beautiful cities, located on the pacific coast at the southern most point of California, San Diego enjoys a climate that contributes to the year around beauty of Balboa Park where the museum complex resides as well as many other lovely parks and attractions
San Diego Watercolor Society Mission Statement: To be the recognized leader in expanding the appreciation of, and involvement in Water-media painting through member instruction, exhibition, community education and promotion in San Diego County. Membership in SDWS is open to anyone interested in water based media on paper: both artists and non-painters. Purpose and Goals: SDWS in a non-profit organization. Purpose: To promote water-based media on paper
by sponsoring member shows, an International show, monthly meetings, workshops,
painting demonstrations and special events. To encourage students, viewers and artists of all ages to become involved in water media on paper and the San Diego Watercolor Society. Goals: To encourage members to participate in shows,
attend the general meetings and become actively involved with SDWS. To encourage non-members to attend the shows, general
meetings and to become a member of SDWS. To be recognized by art critics, news media, galleries, and the viewing public as a vital and growing visual arts organization. The San Diego Watercolor Society participates in ArtWalk, a city-wide festival of art, with open studios and demonstrations.
